If you could write up a list of the most influential figures in pop culture, celebrity portrait photographer ‘John Wright’ has most likely photographed them.

Michael Jackson,  Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Cheryl Cole, Muse, Ricky Gervais …I could go on.

His work has been published on the front of many, many magazine covers from around the world, and if you don’t think that you’ve seen his images… you’re probably wrong. You can see his iconic work at johnwrightphoto.com

I caught up with John at his studio in Hoxton and asked him a few questions about his work.

He and Louie Rice will play in Birmingham next 18th November.

I was asked to design a blog for a record label called ‘GreenMoney Music’.

Nothing complicated, just a fun but functional design… Like their music! I’m a huge fan of what they’re releasing and the mixtapes keep me entertained whilst I edit my photographs.

By day a primary school teacher, by night a rapper and a graffiti artist in between; welcome to the where-clouds-abound world of Airborne Mark.  
As of September 2010 “Six Folds and a Throw” EP is finally up and away. Airborne Mark, of a quirky heaven-sent accent fame, 
teamed up with an acclaimed progressive electronic producer B Szczesny  (Brennnessel Netlabel) to create a uniquely sounding debut EP.

“Jelly Beans” is a recount of his personal journey from disliking being in the classroom to the realisation of being in the moment with the kids while waiting for his artistic aspirations to come to fruition. 
“The Life You Can’t See” paints a picture of challenges he experienced settling into the London scene as an English rapping foreigner. 
“Wind / Vapour / Dew / Frost” and “A.I.R” embody the light-hearted side of the EP, introducing Airborne Mark’s ever present aviation theme in a true braggadocio style.

“Six Folds and a Throw” also contains an exclusive nu-disco remix of “A.I.R” by B Szczesnywhich debuted in its instrumental version on his latest album “Beyond Midnight”.

Ladies and Gentlemen. This is your captain speaking. Fasten your seat-belts, you are about to enter the hyperspace.

Funktrap is one of the premier Popping events in London and the previous event in February was mad busy with a heated and packed out venue and incredible skills on display from all the poppers involved. Slick Dogg and Tempo (G-Style, USA) were special guest judges and Breakz (UK) eventually went on to win.

I was asked by Joe Funktrap earlier this year to work on a re-branding of Funktrap as it continues to grow and become bigger and more successful. The February event was a great success and so we wanted to push things further and go for something a bit more special for the next flyer with some full blown artwork featuring two of the poppers from the last event, JC & Sagy.

I went down to take some shots for the Red Bull Academy @ the Old Blue Last last night. And I have to say there are some amazing talented artists out there, it’s helped reinforce my faith in live music.

It was all female, music geek  line-up with one artists using a custom built pedal board hooked up to Ableton, used for layering her vocals, and another girl opting for a theremin.

Last night I was kindly invited to take photographs of an art/music event held at ’33 Portland Place’ (West London).

The management  kicked the night off by showing the boxing match from 2 projectors, on separate floors.

A friend of mine, Alex Cudby, was exhibiting a few of his photographic pieces.

I designed a t-shirt for DirtySmart Clothing, a self-titled ‘electro house fashion label’ run by two brothers from Manchester.

The design is about to go to print and will feature in the label’s second line, which is due to be released around mid-August.
