The Horrors nominated for Mercury Award

The Horrors have been nominated for this year’s Barclay Card Mercury Music Prize. The band’s album ‘Primary Colours’ was chosen as one of the best twelve albums of the last year by the prize’s panel of judges.

The winners of the competition will be announced on September 8th.

The Script begin a four day residency at Shepherd’s Bush Empire tomorrow evening. The band play the legendary venue on the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th of June. All shows are sold out.

Manic Street Preachers release ‘Journal For Plague Lovers’ today. The band’s ninth album is available on 12″ Vinyl, CD and as a Limited Edition 2CD package including the band’s original demos for the album alongside a 64 page booklet containing original artwork and lyric sheets by Richey Edwards.

The Horrors Announce New Dates in Mexico, Europe and Japan

The Leeds date on The Horrors’ UK tour has been upgraded and rescheduled from The Brudenell Social Club to The Cockpit. The gig will now take place on June 7th. All original tickets will remain valid and new tickets can be purchased through Seetickets.

The band will return to Mexico for the first time in over a year to play a date on May 23rd in Mexico City. Also added to the list of dates are festival appearances in Germany, Poland, Belgium, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Wight. To top it all off, the band will head to Japan to play this year’s Summer Sonic Festival. They’ll be in Tokyo on 8th August and Osaka the day after.

Finally, The Horrors have been confirmed to appear at All Tomorrow’s Parties in Minehead this December. Curated by My Bloody Valentine, the band will appear alongside Sonic Youth, De La Soul and many others.
